I'm Lara, and I'm looking for a Chief of Staff / Founders Associate.
We're Hämmerle & Vogel — a 60-year-old, family-owned embroidery company. We design and produce embroidery for premium lingerie, couture, and ready-to-wear for some of the most loved brands in the world like Victoria's Secret, Agent Provocateur, Aubade, Marks & Spencer and many more. I've taken over as the third generation, and I'm rebuilding it customer-first, enabled by technology.
What's the job?
Half the job is making my impact on the business more effective — freeing me up to do the work only I can do. The other half is actively transforming the business with me: building the things that change how we work, sitting with our team and our customers, finding the friction, fixing it.
What you'll spend your time on
- You make sure the day-to-day runs smoothly — you keep track of what's moving, what's stuck, what needs a decision, and you catch what's slipping before it drops.
- You own a portfolio of strategic projects (e.g. internal digital infrastructure, sales–design process redesign, hiring sprints) and drive them to outcomes.
- You build the processes and automations that change how the company actually runs and how we best serve our customers.
Who I think you are
- You want to learn what it takes to transform a family-owned manufacturing business.
- You're structured, and you believe excellence comes from getting the details right.
- You're a creative problem solver with a pinch of naive optimism — when someone says it can't be done, your instinct is to ask "why not?" and find the pragmatic way through.
- You get things done. You'd rather ship the scrappy version that works than wait for the perfect one that doesn't exist yet.
- You're highly empathetic, and you understand that our customers are at the center of everything we do.
- You're equally drawn to new tools and to real-world impact: you want to put technology to work on real problems in real companies.
- You can hold the bridge between a traditional industry and new technology, and you respect that they're two different worlds that need translation.
- You're an excellent communicator and write clearly in English. German is a strong plus. French is the ultimate.
- You've worked 1–3 years in a startup, consultancy, or similarly fast-moving environment, or you're early in your career and have already shown you can build.
- A plus: you love beautiful things, after all, we're creating amazing designs here.
What I offer
- The chance to transform a business, and to learn fast doing it.
- An annual learning budget and a modern AI tool stack.
- Located in Vorarlberg, Austria. 15 minutes from Lake Constance, 1.5 hours from Zurich, 2 from Munich, 3.5 from Milan. Relocation support if needed.
- Minimum 4 days a week at the office + travel.
- Competitive salary with a success-based upside.
I genuinely think this is one of the best places in the world right now to learn three things at once: what technology can do when you apply it to the real world, how you bring people along through real change, and how you transform a legacy business.
